The Department of Science and Technology region XII spearhead by Regional Director Engr. Sammy P. Malawan CESE together with Provincial Directors of Sultan Kudarat, Ms. Zenaida Guiano, Sargen, For. Nabil Hadjii Yassin, South Cotabato, Engr. Mahdali Alonto and North Cotabato, Mr. Michael Mayo, DOST Staff and the new SETUP Cooperators convened for a signing of Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (DOST-SETUP) held in the Philippine National Halal Laboratory and Science Center in Brgy. Paraiso, Koronadal City today, April 12, 2022.

The five (5) SETUP cooperators are DDA Aqua Farm in General Santos City, Dane and Dave Machine Shop, North Cotabato, ALS-R Fruit Farm and 3Js Coffee in Sultan Kudarat and Grafx 8 Advertising in South Cotabato with a total innovation fund of 6.9 Million Pesos.

In his Opening Message, Regional Director Engr. Sammy P. Malawan, CESE emphasized that trust is important in order for this collaboration to succeed.

"We are here to help you in all of your endeavors, as much, what we need in order for us to succeed is to trust one another." said Engr. Malawan.

Engr. Szalinah Mercado, Chief for Technical Services Division (TSD) and Supervising Science Research Specialist gave the orientation about the provisions stipulated in the MOA to be signed between the DOST and the cooperators.

The SETUP Project is a nationwide strategy encouraging and assisting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to adopt technological innovations to improve their products, services, operations and increase their productivity
