The DOST XII Provincial Science and Technology Director (PSTD) Ms. Zenaida D. Guiano led the abovementioned conduct of the seminar together with other PSTC Sultan Kudarat staff.

The seminar was requested by the SETUP proponent’s association, as part of their Human Resource Technological Upgrading, a yearly requirement for them to maintain their accreditation by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The association is currently on the process of renewing their Certification from the said food regulatory agency.

The said association is comprised of various sugarcane planters, who also process their raw materials into healthy sugar called Muscovado, of which the town of President Quirino is famously known region wide.

The office is being honored to be part of this journey of the association, as various physical improvements were already in-placed since the last visit of the staff.

At least 19 Muscovado producers and members of San Pedro Muti-crop Planters Association, Inc. (SPMCPAI), a Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP) beneficiary attended the said seminar.
