KORONADAL CITY- The Department of Science and Technology region XII signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the six (6) Micro-Small and Medium-scale Enterprise (MSMEs) for Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP) of DOST in provinces of Sultan Kudarat, SarGen and South Cotabato last October 27, 2020.

 

The signing of MOA between the DOST XII OIC-Regional Director Engr. Sammy P. Malawan and the six (6) MSMEs proponents was held at the Philippine National Halal Laboratory and Science Center (PNHLSC) in Koronadal City.

 

The said MOA signing was joined and witnessed by Engr. Szalinah Mercado, Supervising Science Research Specialist and Chief for Technical Services Division, Forester Nabil Hadji Yasin, Provincial Science and Technology Director (PSTD) of SarGen, Engr. Tamano Sacar, SRSII and other DOST XII staff.

 

The said MSMEs were the following:

1. G5C DAIRY FARM, Banga, South Cotabato

2. GREENLANDS AGRITECH VENTURES, San Isidro, General Santos City

3. LOLA MADING'S FOOD PRODUCTS, Balimbing Street, General Santos City

4. METALLIC PISCES ENGINEERING WORKS, Calumpang, General Santos City

5. JEA JUICERY, Isulan, Sultan Kudarat

6. WJB FOOD PRODUCT, Brgy. Calean, Tacurong City.

 

In his Opening Message, OIC-Regional Director Engr. Sammy P. Malawan congratulates the proponents who have complied and passed the requirements and have selected to avail the DOST SETUP project.

 

"The MOA signing is very important. This is the starting point of our collaboration where the responsibilities of the MSMEs and DOST stipulated." Engr. Malawan said.

 

"SETUP program is not by giving merely an equipment but it is a package of assistance such as consultancy to enhance productivity, laboratory services, product packaging and labelling and training services relative to the productivity and product improvement." Engr. Malawan pointed out.

 

SETUP is DOST's flagship program and a complete package of technology assistance sought to address technical problems and improve operations and boost productivity thru the application of new technologies and processes.
