DEPED-GenSan Schools Division Superintendent Romelito G. Flores, CESO V with glee as he expressed his excitement to the nearing implementation of one of the Department of Science and Technology’s flagship programs 𝗦𝗖𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗛𝗡𝗢𝗟𝗢𝗚𝗬 𝗔𝗖𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗖 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗛-𝗕𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗗 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗟𝗬-𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗞𝗜𝗢𝗞𝗦 (𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗞𝗦) to the division of General Santos.
DOST 12 Regional Director Engr. Sammy P. Malawan and SDS Flores signed a 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 yesterday, April 5 at Division Office, DepEd-Gensan, Tiongson St., Lagao, General Santos City, launching the full-blown execution of the STARBOOKS program in the city.
RD Engr. Malawan highlighted that the STARBOOKS is a one-of-a-kind technology introduced by DOST to the public. He elaborated the features and contents of the kiosks and its impact on the daily undertakings of students. The good director also conveyed his warm thanks to SDS Flores for collaborating with DOST and for proactively aiming to bring science, technology, and innovation to the grassroots of their agency.
Facilitated the MOU Signing is the PSTO-SarGen led by OIC-Provincial Director For. Nabil A. Hadji Yassin, together with his staff from the provincial office. The event was also graced by the presence of the Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Carlos G. Susarno, CESE, and top officials, Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) Chief Juliet F. Lastimosa, and Education Program Supervisors (EPS), Edilbert A. Reyes (Science), Sally A. Palomo, (Learning Resources), Dr. Luzviminda R. Loreno (Values Education) and Senior Education Program Specialist-RMN Herven A. Allado.
ASDS Dr. Susarno adjourned the event by reaffirming their absolute acceptance of the STARBOOKS, and assured RD Engr. Malawan that DEPED-GenSan will perform immediate actions in order to swiftly implement the program in the city for the upcoming limited face-to-face classes. Both he and SDS immediately laid out initial plans and strategies on the way-forward enactment of the project.
The DOST 12 and DEPED-GenSan is envisioning that this partnership will bring massive fruition to all schools of General Santos City.
