The Department of Science and Technology Region XII in partnership with DOST-Technology Application and Promotion Institute (TAPI) has conducted recently a webinar on Invent School Program (ISP) for College via Zoom platform.

In his Opening Message, DOST XII Regional Director Engr. Sammy P. Malawan, CESE urge the participants to invent and innovate. He further added that DOST XII is willing to assist inventors in the region and protect their inventions.


The two-day webinar aims to help unleash student’s creativity and inventiveness and will provide them an introduction to basic concepts and definitions of Intellectual Property (IP) and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). It covers all core areas of the IP practice and gives the first overview of existing practices and processes related to IP management.


Twenty-seven (27) attendees from Notre Dame of Marbel University (NDMU), Notre Dame of Dadiangas University (NDDU), Southern Christian College (SCC), Notre Dame University (NDU), Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU), and Cotabato Foundation College of Science and Technology (CFCST) have participated in the said activity.


The ISP is a venue which encourages students to learn, explore in the field of science and discover their potential. It also serves as the outset of the technology-minded students to steam up their creativity, inventiveness and ingenuity to become a Filipino inventor and scientist in the future.
