KORONADAL CITY - December 23- The Department of Science and Technology Region XII (DOST XII) has finally received the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification after it hurdled the ISO audit conducted last November 11-12, 2020 via Zoom.
DOST XII OIC-Regional Director Engr. Engr. Sammy P. Malawan expressed his gratitude and delight for receiving the said certificate.
"We are thankful to Almighty Allah for this certificate. We are very grateful because when you are ISO certified meaning you have passed with national and international standards." said Engr. Malawan.
"This is a concerted effort of the whole personnel and staff, so lets congratulate ourselves. Ofcourse with great efforts by some and we recognized them." Engr. Malawan stressed out.
"We have been an ISO certified since 2007, we follow strictly and religiously the provisions of standard of ISO 9001 2008 version and now we are certified by the new standard ISO 9001 2015 version." Engr. Malawan added.
It is a must that government has to be certified quality management system because this is a requirement and it is a law. Moreover, every government agency is required to adopt the ISO.
"ISO standard plays a great role in the operation and the recognition of the agency." Engr. Malawan pointed out.
ISO certification has a great impact not only to DOST XII's operations. This is a requirement for recognition of a certain institution and granting performance-based programs and projects.
