Eight proponents from the region signed Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Science and Technology Region XII for technology upgrading of processing equipment and other assistance through the DOST’s Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP).

Five of which are cooperators from General Santos City/Sarangani and three are from Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat that are expected to receive technological assistance intended for the projects.

The MOA signing was held at DOST Regional Office XII in Koronadal City led by Regional Director Engr. Sammy P. Malawan, CESE and assisted by OIC Chief, Technical Operation Engr. Szalinah S. Mercado, Chief ASD Engr. Normina P. Pahm, Provincial S&T Director Ms. Zenaida Guiano, OIC-Provincial S&T Director SarGen For. Nabil A. Hadji Yassin, Science Research Specialist II Engr. Sacar Tamano and other DOST XII staff.

Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program or SETUP is a flagship program of the DOST encouraging and assisting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to adopt technological innovations to improve their products, services, and operations and increase their productivity and competitiveness.
