The Department of Science and Technology Region XII through the DOST Sultan Kudarat Provincial Office turned over 6 million worth of equipment to chosen beneficiaries in the province last 7 April, 2022 at the Department of Science and Technology Philippine National Halal Laboratory and Science Center, Brgy. Paraiso, Koronadal City.

The turnover, headed by DOST Regional Director Engr. Sammy P. Malawan CESE enjoined with DOST Sultan Kudarat Provincial Office Director Ms. Zenaida Guiano was attended by DOST staff and project leaders and beneficiaries of CEST and GIA Programs.

On his opening speech, RD Malawan emphasized the importance of helping one another “DOST XII is here to help you grow your businesses and projects, let us help hand in hand in order to make Region XII great, DOST XII is here to guide you and help you discover your best potential”, he said.

CEST is a set of science and technology interventions aimed at creating progressive, empowered, and resilient rural communities.

Through S&T interventions in health and nutrition, water and sanitation, basic education and literacy, livelihood/economic enterprise development, catastrophe risk reduction, and climate change adaptation, the initiative aims to empower the poorest and most depressed populations in the country.
