COTABATO CITY - The Department of Science and Technology, regional office XII (DOST XII), is pleased to invite everyone on the simultaneous celebration of this year’s National Science and Technology Week (NSTW) on July 25-26, 2016 at SM GenSan. Dubbed as “Juan Science, One Nation”, the event is another promising opportunity of bringing color and zest to the advancing technologies and trends in science and significantly highlight the role of public and private sectors in boosting the country’s competitiveness in the global scene. The celebration embodies the relentless efforts of the government in making sure that the presence of S&T is highly perceived by every Filipinos.
The opening program will be staged on the 25th of July involving different DOST regional offices and four major science hubs in Bicutan, Taguig City, Quezon City, Manila, and Los Baños, Laguna thru a video-conference.
Succeeding events will be held, for the first time, in a cinema to bring participants to another level of experience and learning of the DOST’s Programs and Projects for country-side development, including technology upgrading for Micro-Small and Medium-scale Enterprises (MSMEs); innovations for advancing community healthcare; early warning systems for disaster risk reduction and management; S&T undertakings for Halal industry development; and roll-out for massive adoption of the 1st Philippine Digital Science Library, among others.
